LACC had the pleasure of working on four parts of the Cape Fear Community College campus in historic downtown Wilmington, North Carolina: the 200,000sf Union Station Building and associated 1,200 car Parking Deck, the 1,500 seat Fine Arts Center and the expansion of the Schwartz Center. As part of the Union Station Building project, LACC designed a student park along the former railbed with an amphitheater, trestle bridge and a paving design that echoes the removed railroad tracks. The Fine Arts Center included an arts courtyard for exhibits and receptions, and gathering area with a grove of trees and built-in seating.
